Sooryavanshi sets new record as it releases in 1300 screens overseas, hits 4000 locations in India

Sooryavanshi has set a new record overseas as it released in 1300 screens across 66 countries. The film released in over 4000 screens in India.

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif’s film Sooryavanshi finally released today, November 5. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film also features Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn in cameo roles. Interestingly, Sooryavanshi has received a wide international release across 1300 screens in 66 countries. In India, the film will be released over 4000 screens which is a record in the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sooryavanshi is one of the widest international distribution for an Indian film during the Covid-19 pandemic. In North America, the film will be released on 520 screens in 490 locations. It will be shown on 137 screens in the United Arab Emirates and 107 screens in Australia. Sooryavanshi will release at 158 locations across Europe, including 29 screens in France, 36 screens in Germany, 20 screens in Spain, and 19 screens in Italy. Not only that, Israel, Japan, Chile, Egypt, Iraq and Djibouti are amongst the non-traditional countries where Sooryavanshi will be released.

However, it was sort out later and advanced booking started last night. Sooryavanshi will be reportedly coming in over 4,226 screens in India with Mumbai getting the maximum shows, that is 1035. In Delhi, it will be released in 923 screens.


Sooryavanshi is the fourth film in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe that began with Ajay Devgn’s Singham in 2011. The latest actioner features cameo appearances by Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn. After Singham and Singham Returns, Ranveer Singh carried forward the baton with Simmba. Now, Akshay is ready to entertain the audience with Sooryavanshi along with Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn. The action film’s theatrical release was postponed twice due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Sooryavanshi’s first song, Aila Re Aillaa, released on October 21 and became the most viewed Hindi Bollywood film song in 24 hours. The film is produced by Reliance Entertainment and Rohit Shetty Picturez in association with Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films.
