Toofaan is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The film was earlier scheduled to release in theatres on September 18, 2020. However, due to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, the makers have decided to release it on Amazon Prime Video on July 16.
